I am using the PowerPC Microprocessor Family: The Programming
Environments Rev. 1.
rfi is a 64-bit bridge mode instruction which essentially only
operates on the 32-bit parts of the MSR. For instance, rfi cannot enable
bit 0 (SF) 64-bit mode. rfid is required for full 64-bit operation.
