xfree-4.2.0 build trouble

Hi to all,
I'm trying to build xfree86-4.2.0 using gcc-3.0.4 and binutils-2.11.2 on a
AMD-athlon running linux with glibc-2.24.
I do the make World stage without trouble but the install stage stops at
glxinfo linking, with error: libGLU.so undefined symbol swap(void**, int,
int).
If I do objdump libGLU.so | grep -e "swap", it says:
00000000 *UND* 00000000 swap(void **, int, int)
What does it mean?
