fnmatch and Tru64

We have been having a problem building binutils on Tru64 5.1 using the
Compaq cc compiler. We have received the "ar: libeberty.a: File Truncation"
error.

We have narrowed it down to compiling fnmatch.c with the -g option. If we
remove the -g option then everything is ok. FWIW, "nm fnmatch.o" also gives
the "File Truncation" error.

Any idea what is happening here? Is this a compiler or fnmatch problem?
