What are the symptoms for 2.14 not working ?

I do not believe so. It is probable that it was never supported by
earlier versions of GAS and only came in when Richard Earnshaw
rewrote the ARM specific command line parsing code a while back.
Does '-mcpu=strongarm' work ?
