I'm always using the native linker. I just wanted to try switching IRIX 6
(N32 + N64) gcc from native as to gas, everything else stayed the same.

Strange. There may be problems introduced by performing these bootstraps
on IRIX 6.5.10m, which is quite old now. The resulting binaries/shared
libraries still crash the same on 6.5.20f, though, but this might be due to
some bug in the native 6.5.10 linker. I used that box (a 4 x R10000
Onyx^2) because it's *much* faster than the 2 x R8000 Power Challenge/L or
R12000 O2 I have available otherwise. I'll retry this over the weekend on
the O2.
