Hello all,
I'm very new here. Where can I get a good a.out documentation? I mean
the a.out format in linux. I guess it's realted to COFF.
Few points:
a) modern linux uses elf. has for years.
linux still support a.out.
b) look for svr4 stuff using google for elf. probably a caldera.com
address iirc.
c) a.out and coff (svr3) are only loosely related.
d) good god. don't use a.out for anything. don't use coff either.
I thought a.out is much simpler, so it would be easy to study.
Unfortunately, a.out isn't well documented.
