MIPS assembler annoying "line numbers must be positive" message...

Greetings.

I am using binutils-2.16 and latest gcc-4.1.0 out of cvs. I see
nothing in the mail archives about this message:

   arch/mips/mm/cex-gen.S:1: Warning: line numbers must be positive;
   line number 0 rejected

Has anyone else ran into this?
