Hi IB,

I downloaded binutils-2.16.1 and configured them with
option --target=xscale-elf.
I got the following error message:

/lib /usr/lib" no armelf "xscale-elf"

I was not able to reproduce this failure. For the record though you should be able to configure the binutils package with --target=arm-elf and get a working set of tools (including linker and assembler). ie there is no special need to tell binutils that your default target is the XScale.
