Hi Dave,

I'm beginning to think that there is no way to convert a statically-linked
PECOFF executable to ELF format with recent versions of binutils
under cygwin.

I think that you may be right. (I assume that you cannot go back to the sources and just recompile using an elf32-i386 target ?)

Perhaps though you could supply a small test case so that we could look into the issue further.
