SPU overlays with FORTRAN

Subject: SPU overlays with FORTRAN

Hello,

Overlays do not work with object files generated by gfortran, but work
fine with gcc generated object files. I have tried various versions of
spu-ld (2.17 cvs20070401, 2.18.50.20080630) and spu-gcc/spu-gfortran
(4.1.1, 4.4.0 svn20080617).
By "not work" i mean that the segments for the object files i specify 
in the linker script are not generated.

Is there a (conceptual) reason for this? Is it possible to use Overlays
with Fortran on the SPU?
