Difference in assemble language

Thanks all for your answers! I solved the comment problem by replacing all
the ;-signs with /* */ and nameing the file .S

However, the next problem is a bit harder.....The file that i am trying to
assemble is the startupfile for my AT91 EB40-board and it was originally
taken from the ARM SDT suite that came with the board. Since i'm not
planning to use the SDT i thought that i might take some files from the suit
but i seems like the assemler language isn't the same for ARM and gcc. When
i assemble cstartup_angel.s i get very much "No such instruction"-comments
from the assembler.

Do i have to convert the whole file to suite the gcc or can the language be
an option to the assembler?

I there anyone that has a startupfile for the EB40-board which can be
assembled with gcc?

Thanks,

Daniel

I don't know of any assembler option that will fix this. Use C/C++ style
comments instead of ';' and you'll have no problems.
