Re: difference between sh-hms and sh-coff

To my knowledge sh-hms and sh-coff are the the same. GDB supports a number of object file formats and I am using sh-elf to develop for a SH-7034 processor (SH-1 family). I had trouble building the toolchains for sh-hms. I kept getting errors regarding DWARF2 support and was not able to figure it out (GCC version 2.95.3). It may have been fixed with the new release of GCC 3.0. I am also using GDB and Insight. We have incorporated the standard SH debugging stub supplied with the distributions and it has been working for us.Hope this helps.

Hello !

I am trying to find the difference between sh-hms and sh-coff toolchain.
Is sh-hms to be used if one is going to debug through gdb ?
Or are these toolchains identical ?

Any help/ link regarding this matter would be helpful.

Arati.
