I'm trying to compile the crosscompiler for ppc405 using crosstool 0.27 on cygwin (1.5.9). However, after several minutes I get the error message:
make[1]: *** [iconvdata/install-headers] Segmentation fault (core dumped)
make[1]: Leaving directory `/cygdrive/c/DATA/crosstool-0.27/build/powerpc-405-linux-gnu/gcc-3.3.2-glibc-2.3.2/glibc-2.3.2'
make: *** [install-headers] Error 2
(Sorry for the extensive message-length...)
Does anybody knows how to get past this segmentation fault?
Yes. You need to download the latest snapshot of cygwin1.dll from http://cygwin.com/snapshots/cygwin1-20040510.dll.bz2 Unpack that, then (with no cygwin processes running) drop the unpacked dll on top of your old cygwin1.dll
Also, you should probably use http://kegel.com/crosstool/crosstool-0.28-rc13.tar.gz instead of 0.27.
