It does not fail like this here, maybe because PR9552 depends on the build system.
I'm running Red Hat 9 on x86, using its standard compiler.
What OS, CPU, gcc, glibc, and binutils does your build system have installed?

I am also using Redhat Linux 9. However, unlike you, I am not using the standard compiler.

When tried using standard gcc and standard binutils, the error did not occur. Is there any other thing which I should investigate?

Try using standard binutils and the new compiler. Let's narrow the issue down to ld if we can. - Dan
