What is SoftFPA??

Hi all,
As you know, I am trying to debug error message 
I am getting 

crtn.o uses softFPA, a.out does not

What is softFPA? 

Where it is specified to
the gcc and glibc to use softFPA as default 
Architecture?

Why do we get this message ?
