hi all, first some background: i'm building a cross compiler for a custom mips box. given that i have some binary only modules from a 2.4 kernel, i doubt that the box will ever run a 2.6 kernel. so, my questions are: 1) by default crosstool uses a 2.6 kernel. is there any harm in keeping this, or do i need to force it to use a 2.4 kernel (via the LINUX_DIR variable)? i'm guessing i should force a 2.4 kernel 2) i'm using a custom board, which has some different includes (mips boards tend to be like that). ie interrupt definitions, etc. would stock kernel headers cause problems in the compilation of userland utilities? 3) is there any mechanism to retrieve linux from cvs (linux for mips is located on linux-mips.org, which may or may not have the arch specific stuff put back into kernel.org). is there a need for this (ie do other archs have this?) thanks in advance, rob ------ Want more information?
