Yet, it is the approach that works.  Even Mark Mitchell has to use it
from time to time and he is the head of the project.

gcc people do care about gcc.  They do have their priorities, though.  They
usually need to be reminded about patches that are not mainstream and they
very frequently need to be reminded about patches which only show up in
bugzilla.
