Re: compile error when trying to build for SH3eb

Robert P. J. Day wrote:
  having been away from trying to build a toolchain for sh3eb for a
while, i tried to reproduce a previous build with similar files, and
got:

...
+ KERNEL_PATCHLEVEL=6
+ case "$KERNEL_VERSION.$KERNEL_PATCHLEVEL.x" in
+ case $ARCH in
+ make ARCH=sh prepare include/linux/version.h
  SPLIT   include/linux/autoconf.h -> include/config/*
  CC      scripts/mod/empty.o
cc1: error: invalid option `b'
cc1: error: invalid option `3'
make[2]: *** [scripts/mod/empty.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [scripts/mod] Error 2
make: *** [scripts] Error 2

um ... i'm assuming those cc1 errors refer to options -m3 and -mb, which are gcc options for sh3 and big endian. what amazingly silly thing have i done here?

Try it with a 2.4 kernel. 2.6 uses the compiler to install the headers :-(
