any value in standardizing on SYSROOT approach?

Subject: any value in standardizing on SYSROOT approach?

  is there any value in simplifying the structure of crosstool by just
selecting the SYSROOT approach and sticking with it?  even the
crosstool.sh script describes that technique as "spiffy."  :-)
