in looking at that contributed NPTL patch "crosstool-0.38-nptl-schaefer.patch", i'm not scared to admit that i have no idea what's happening in terms of the patch applied to crosstool.sh to build gcc-core for NPTL. if anyone wants to check out that patch file, there are over 100 lines being added to the gcc-core step, which involve building gcc-core both without a shared libgcc and *with* a shared libgcc. i'm not sure how much time i'll have today to look at that more closely but is all of that really necessary? i'm guessing at least some of it isn't required anymore with the newer GNU software, but that's just a guess. rday ------ Want more information?
