Above was with the 2.6.16 Linux kernel + patches I have now tested 2.6.17 + (a lot less!) patches: Same thing happens, so I'm inclined to think something has gone wrong with my glibc build??? Perhaps missing a "when EABI build do something different" case? I'll have a closer look.
