GNU Cross compiler for Intel on Linux Platform

Sorry If I am posting this message in wrong place.

I am new to this so I am apologizing in advance for any incomplete
information. I am trying to create a GNU cross compiler for Linux on
Intel platform using crosstool-0.43.

I made the directory /downloads and /opt/crosstool in appropriate
directory where i want my cross tool to be.

Do I need to put tar file or extracted directory in /download
directory or will it download by itself??? I assumed it will download

Then I ran the demo-i686.sh script but i did not found any directory
created.... Then I tried to run the all.sh script it started to ask me
TARGET and TARGET_CFLAGS.....
