Well, that's good to hear. ccache is the culprit, and a sanity check and correct
handling are to be added. Thanks for the report!

This is part of a procedure to trick gcc into thinking it is always cross-
compiling, even when the target is of the same kind as the host and/or the
build system (eg. 386 vs. 686).
