I will gladly welcom patches and/or explanations on why such or such thing
does not work on Cygwin.

That was the time it took last I check on a _physical_ Core-2 duo machine.
So I'd be impressed it does not take longer in a VM.

Anyway, I really can't debug Cygwin, so I'll gladly read explanations
and apply patches! ;-)
