x-tools for Intel i80219 ARM5

My objective is to build (on an AMD64 machine) a patched linux kernel
(zImage) for an Intel 80219 ARM5tel processor used on an EM7210 board
in a Freestor 4020 NAS box. This is a clone of the Intel SS4000E NAS
box. The box is hacked with a v2.6.32-5 linux kernel and Debian
Squeeze. There are some patches to the kernel I'd like to do so that
it will support the on/off button and the activity LEDs.

Linux FREESTOR 2.6.32-5-iop32x #1 Sun May 6 07:47:32 UTC 2012 armv5tel

Some details on the SS4000E are at http://em7210.kwaak.net/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/wiki

Crosstool-ng-1.15.3 works fine for some samples I tried. For this
target it builds a toolchain using a config that I sort of guessed at.

Config dump at http://pastebin.com/ud3vS2SR

I could use some guidance on what menu options to use in menuconfig
for this target. Selecting the various versions of things is very
confusing.
