In certain ***RARE*** cases, I believe that a /opt/<package>/ heirarchy
-- with the associated /etc/opt/ and /var/opt/ areas -- is a useful and
necessary expansion of the official cygwin packaging standard.
This sounds like it would map pretty well to:
/opt/<package>/ -> c:\Program Files\<package>\ (CSIDL_PROGRAM_FILES)
/var/opt/<package>/ -> C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local
Settings\Application Data\<package>\ (CSIDL_LOCAL_APPDATA)
/etc/opt/<package>/ -> c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\<package>\ (CSIDL_COMMON_APPDATA)
Hmmm... that /var one doesn't feel right....
