It's not required for the distro, as 2.0 provides libxklavier10.
libxklavier8 is from 1.04, which is used by GNOME 2.8; I only made
libxklavier require libxklavier8 so that I didn't break my existing
installation.
I suppose I could maintain it, but I haven't had a chance to test the
new version yet. Could you get by in the meantime with the copy from
Cygwin Ports?
