Should be gray waved, typical X desktop without a Desktop ENV.
Fullscreen does cover the WIn32 desktop.  Multiwindowing is not implemented
yet.

Is xterm.exe in your PATH? in other words is /usr/X11R6/bin in your PATH?

Try editing startxwin.abt file.  If it contains "start rxvt"
comment it out by prefixing with REM.  On some system rxvt crashed which
caused xterm not to boot because "start rxvt" was before "start xterm"
