Hi,

I once thought it was caused by exiting the lastly executed program
(vtwm in this case) as soon as it was activated and consequently the
script itself exited soon and also Xwin.exe. That's why I didn't put "&"
at the end of line executing vtwm in my script.


But, it seems not the problem in your case but seems like Alexander's
problem discussed in the thread of "XWin cant lock the screen". Are you
using any non-regular driver related to mouse or display? What will
happen when changing the acceleration level in the display property?

Concerning about the color problem, aren't you still trying to run X
server in 16bit depth mode? I remember the article in which someone said
it doesn't work well else in 8bit depth mode.
