I need a few volunteers to test the XWin-Win9x-Me.tar.bz2 on
Windows 95/98/Millenium.
Download XWin-Win9x-Me.tar.bz2 from
ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/cygwin/xfree/xc-4-binaries
Install xfree86 as described in FAQ and Harold Installation Documents, then
replace XWin.exe
in /usr/X11R6/bin with the one in XWin-Win9x-Me.tar.bz2.
Test X-server on Windows 95/98/Me. It works on Windows NT/2000, so no
testing needed
for these OS.
Harold assumptions was correct that map_dx_fb() was getting inadvertantly
called
on Windows 9x/Me, thuis causing a hang or crash.
Please post your results to this mailing list. Please do not mail
directly to me.
If it passes tests on Windows 9x/Me, I will submit patches to XFree86.org
which would be incoprorated into XFree86 4.0.2, hopefully.
