How about trying x-server-1.0 from
ftp;//sources.redhat.com/pub/cygwin/xfree/contrib
It should work on Win 9x, will be a bit slow, but would save you $$$ which
you want
to give to corproation and could not dedecut them from uncle sam's budget
;-)
