I found your work incredibly helpful for my work!
Thanks!....Really!
I have some problem with xfree86! I hope you can help me!
I am not a Unix expert!
I am using a PentiumIII machine with Windows 2000
I installed Cygwin (the latest one) in C:\Cygwin and it seems OK!
I got the whole xc4-binaries files. I bunzipped and untarred them
into C:\Cygwin and I tried startxwin both with doubleclick from Explorer
and within bash shell of Cygwin!
In both cases:
I got an error like ....
Impossible to find vtvm ...
Infact, I saw I do not have this executable!
in Xwin (Dos black) window I saw this message:
owner of /tmp/.X11-unix should be set to root
(I run everything by my administrative login)
and after few feedback lines and a full grey (or ligth green) screen
everything stops going back to Windows 2000!
At the end in the dos cmd window I see these messages
C:\Cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin>start XWin -screen 0 1024x768x16 -whitepixel
255 -blackpixel 0
C:\Cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin>start /B xterm -sl 1000 -sb -rightbar -ms red -fg
yellow -bg black -e bash
C:\Cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin>start /B rxvt -fn "Lucidia Console-12"
C:\Cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin>start /B vtwm
XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server
"127.0.0.1:0.0"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
Could you help me. I do not what to do!
