If you can, update to service pack 1. Definately upgrade your video drivers to the manufacturers latest - they seem to be the no 1
cause of problems. Lastly check the startx.bat file, for screen 0 (not screen 8), and try a low res - say 640x480. Once that's
working start increasing the resolution to your hearts content.
