Could you please keep your replies to cygwin-xfree list only, PLEASE.
Are you sure you do not have multiple cygwin1.dll?
What kind of Video card? The resolution you are using (1280x1024x16) I
could get working with a US$ 1000.00 card, which is GeForce2 Ultra with 128
MB video RAM... generaic card and cheaper cards like TNT etc crashed XWin
with the resolution they cannot handle.
