Hello,
I downloaded everything from 'sunsite' in Switzerland. Everything works fine.
cygwin ftp:\\sunsite.cnlab-switch.ch\mirrors\cygwin\latest
xfree86 ftp:\\sunsite.cnlab-switch.ch\mirrors\cygwin\xfree\xc4-binaries\4.0.3

Subject: unable to install xfree86
I tried to install xfree86, following the instructions in
http://www.cygwin.com/xfree/docs/howto/cygwin-xfree-downloading.html.
Question 1: is this the up-to-date documentation ?
Following instruction (1), I went to the mirror
ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/pc/gnuwin32/cygwin/mirrors/cygnus/.
I went down to
ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/pc/gnuwin32/cygwin/mirrors/cygnus/xfree/xc-4-binaries/
where I did not find the files listed in instruction (3) of the
documentation.
I went down to
ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/pc/gnuwin32/cygwin/mirrors/cygnus/xfree/xc-4-binaries/4.0.3/
where I found a number of files with names like
xfree86-4.0.3-DLLs.tar.bz2.
Not all of these correspond to files named in the documentation.
Question 2: which of these binaries do I need ?
Now comes the big PROBLEM: I cannot decompress all files. In some cases
bunzip2.exe works, in other cases it suggests that the compressed files
have become corrupted.
Question 3: what has happened ? what can I do ?
Thanks in advance - Joachim Wuttk
