I searched Xserver/hw/ for ddxProcessArguments and found exactly one server
that uses -screen n WxHxD, namely, vfb. vfb is certainly not the server to
take marching orders from. I saw a few servers that use -screen n, with no
width, height, or depth specified (they only use this to set the preferred
screen number). Xnest uses a -geometry parameter.
In short, I see no server that uses -screen n WxHxD, other than vfb. Could
you site a specific example of which "UNIX" server that you wish to maintain
command line compatibility with?
Thanks,
Harold
