Re:Xfree 86/Cygwin & NT

Hi
Are you sure you used "tar" ivoked from "bash" to extract files? If yes, I
have no idea...
I'm running on W2k and I have no problem like this...

Pavel

Hi, thank you for your help Pavel and Suhaib but my Cygwin/Xfree86 still
doesn't
work.

I use Xfree 4.03 under Winnt.Actually I successfully installed
Cygwin/free86 in
my Windows 98 SE and I decided to port it to a NT machine.
I copied c:\Cygwin and I ran Xfree with the command:
C:\cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin\XWin.exe -screen 0 800x600x16
and I have the following

Couldn't open RGB_DB '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb'
_XSERVTransmkdir: Owner of /tmp/.X11-unix should be set to root

Fatal server error:

In fact I don't understand why it works fine in 98 SE and not in NT or
2000.
I only took the same files in both.

Thank you.
