Newby porting question

I have an old SGI IRIX program called Animabob. It is a 3d visualiztion
program which is very small and efficient and makes 3d moview of "brick
of bytes" files. It uses OpenGL and Motif. I have installed the
LessTif port, but I wonder if anyone has any pointers for porting such
an application. It uses imake and not the GNU tools. I can't seem to
get it to link properly to Xm and X11/whatever. Thanks, Rob.
