Alan,

I realize this point, but in light of recent debate, I wanted to submit an
inquiry to be updated on the status of his project, and any future plans. 
This might be relevent to the list, as it was the whole purpose of the
initial question.  Which, by the way, has caused you to rethink your
stance.  The whole reason I became so impassioned is because you told the
person "It is not open source so we don't have it...  Tough".  I think you
can be a little more diplomatic or at least do a 10 second google search,
like I did, before replying in such a caustic way.  I may have messed up
on a few minor facts and was misled by inaccurate documentation, but at
least we "may" have helped this person find a solution.  And for that, all
this discussion was worth it.
