Nope, no explanation. We could speculate that it has something to do with
the way that Cygwin handles sockets... but that would all be speculation,
right? :)
I've never noticed this myself, but I haven't tried it out. I'll give it a
shot at some point in the future and let you know if it made any difference
for me.
