This doesnt work for me on Win2K.
I have an account that is in the Administrators group.
I copied the SYSTEM line and changed it to root: xdm fails the same
way.
I tried with the Administrator line too, no way.

$ grep 544 /etc/passwd
SYSTEM:*:18:544:,S-1-5-18::
root:*:18:544:,S-1-5-18::
Administrators:*:544:544:,S-1-5-32-544::

$ xdm
Only root wants to run xdm
