Brian's suggestions worked and I will email author of the readme.
Note: After I compiled, when trying to run gtkpod, i got the following error:
"the procedure entry point gtk_about_dialog_get_type could not be located in the
dynamic link library cyggtk-x11-2.0-0.dll"
As the answer to FAQ 8.6 at http://x.cygwin.com/docs/faq/cygwin-x-faq.html
recommended, I just reinstalled my gtk and x libs (I just did all of them to be
on the safe side) with setup.exe, and gtkpod started. Next is to see how it
actually works with my iPod, but for me, the most exciting part is over.
Thanks Brian!
