Hello,
I have an issue with XP-64 where it consistently completely uses up
one of my core's CPU resources after a period of time. This varies from
1-12 hours from what I've seen, but it always occurs when I close all
xterm windows, and the server is still running the in background. I
can't kill the X11 server via the right click tray menu, but instead
have to kill it via task manager.
More information:
System has the following specs:
-Windows XP (x64) fully patched
-Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 CPU
-ATI Radeon x1650 Pro with latest drivers
-4GB RAM
Cygwin and xorg-x11 are fully up to date as of today, and I tried using
both -multiwindow and -rootless with usr\X11R6\bin\startxwin.bat, but
Cygwin-X11 showed the same behavior, and nearly froze my system.
I wish I could attach a log of some kind, but apparently this version of
X11 isn't setup to log to /var/log/Xorg.0.log automatically.
Any help is much appreciated as I greatly prefer xterms over Cygwin
running in dinky, lame DOS CMD windows.
Thanks,
-Garrett
Oh yes, I forgot to mention I have the nested and virtual frame buffer
versions of xorg-server installed.
