  Unfortunately the programs that I'm using under cygwin are simply ports
of traditional Unix programs that had not had a thought in its design for
translating paths on input/output, plus they take the input path params,
and use them internaly as strings to determine how exactly they are going
to operate, and expect them in the unix format.

  Also I still cannot accept "Modify all the programs that run under
cygwin to deal with path format inconsistencies, instead of modyfying just
cygwin to prepare the paths for all those programs, on as-required basis."
