IMO, there's really no reason to make things more difficult than they
have to be.
Print /? Should give some insight.
You could also use something like WordPad or Word or Notepad (although
it sometimes hiccups on the CRLF/LF issues depending on your settings)
or you could even download WinVi32 from http://www.winvi.de/en/ which I
use very regularly.

I'm running windows 98 with Cygwin and there is a
printer on the same LAN.
How can a print files on this printer from cygwin?
Is there any "lpr" command?
I want to print files from a C++ program so if there
is any hints on this subject please let me know.
