Subject:	vim 6.0 & funny ^M

After updating to vim 6.0, all my files now show a ^M character at the end
of each line. It was not the case with vim 5.

How do I get rid of the ^M, or at least to turn off the display of that
character...
it does not show up in my other editors as well....
