Folks, I'm probably doing something stupid, and will be the first to admit it, but I'm unable to build the main cygwin package from source OOTB. 'configure' runs, but 'make' fails numerous times, mostly with "file or directory not found" errors, which are fixable with symbolic links. I remember having similar sort of trouble when building 1.3.6-3, but now it's exacerbated by the fact that w32api is a separate package, rather than a directory in winsup... I'm slowly inching towards a completed build, but there's that nagging feeling in the back of my mind that most of this trouble can be avoided. Any pointers? configure.log (~5k) and make.log (~950k, speckled with fix commands) are attached (gzipped). I'm on Win2k, my gcc is 2.95.3-5. I don't think cygcheck output is relevant -- if it is, I'll provide it. I'm also probably posting to the wrong list... Oh, well. Flames accepted only if they contain useful suggestions. :-) Thanks in advance, Igor -- http://cs.nyu.edu/~pechtcha/ |\ _,,,---,,_ pechtcha@cs.nyu.edu ZZZzz /,`.-'`' -. ;-;;,_ igor@watson.ibm.com |,4- ) )-,_. ,\ ( `'-' Igor Pechtchanski '---''(_/--' `-'\_) fL a.k.a JaguaR-R-R-r-r-r-.-.-.
