When I open an xterm and cd into my unix drive, I can copy or move files to create a new file on my unix file system. However, I cannot create a new file with emacs, vi, cat etc. Do you know what might be causing this?
No, not really. It's probably a better question for the good people at
Hummingbird. Of course, you could try running 'cat', for example, under
strace and see if that provides any hints.
