OOM, so I am sticking to precompiled binaries for now.
You can fetch any source package via ftp or from http://search.cpan.org/
and build and install them manually:
$ tar xzf package-name.tar.gz
$ cd package-name
$ perl Makefile.PL
$ make
$ make test
$ make install
