Ah, very true.  I should've actually included the link to the message I
was referring to.  But see below.

The message I found actually did say "rxvt runs ash by default, so you
have to explicitly tell it to start bash".

Exactly.

I think you were looking at <http://cygwin.com/faq/faq_3.html#SEC66>
instead...  Which, of course, doesn't apply to your case, as you correctly
inferred.  The FAQ entry I meant answers the question "Is there a better
alternative to the standard console window?".

Neither.  It hasn't been updated because the maintainer hasn't found the
time to do this.  Steve O, if you're reading this, could you please fix
the man page?
